Asha Arondekar has added one more feather to her cap. She really is the queen of good times. Always cheerful, Asha Arondekar is positivity personified. She lends this part of her personality to the venture that's very dear to her heart - Tatva Spa. "I always wanted to start a spa where even a Goan housewife will feel happy and comfortable to come," Asha speaks about her dream come true.
"And Tatva Elements is exactly that. The elements of nature - tatvas - are the inspiration. And the ambience is cosy. Staff friendly and helpful and rates affordable," she adds. "Unfortunately, spas have an aura around them and most feel that only the affluent and foreigners can afford spa treatments. And I wanted to demysitify that notion."
Spas is just her business, but Asha has much more to her. She applauds efforts and achievements of women via Orchid Awards. She awards different women from all walks of life every year with a trophy and cash. "This is my way of giving back to the society," Asha says. "There are so many women in the state of Goa, who do a lot for the society or do a business and flourish despite all adversities. Hardly anybody knows about them. I wanted to bring them into the public eye and felicitate them."
After her first spa in Caranzalem, Goa a year ago, Asha launched three more in Goa. And now she's into spa products as well."Spa products were always on my mind. But, I was waiting for the right time and the right person to help me manufacture the range," she shares. "Mid 2012, I found the person who shared the same bandwidth and was willing to manufacture the products. And I immediately decided to go ahead." she informs.
"The idea is to give spa experience at home to women who can't come all the way to the spa due to time restrictions. Eg. if you have a baby and can't step out....you can always ask your maalishwaali to massage you with the Tatva Elements oil and then scrub you with your fave scrub (preferably Tatva Elements again!) and you can do all this while your baby is sleeping and being near it."
Asha as a person loves life andhaving a good time. "I love life and every moment of it," she admits. "And I have been very lucky to have a husband like
Amol, who shares the passion for life. He has always encouraged me to do whatever I want and been my side every time."
Inspired by life, cherished by her guru Sri Sri Ravishankar and encouraged by her husband Amol and daughter Niharika, Asha continues her journey as she plans her expansions. "I want to have franchises of Tatva Elements Spa all over India!" she concludes with her trademark smile.
